Winter Maternity

It's been a very long winter, but it's finally getting warmer. It was 20 above on this day! We spent about 1.5 hours outside and were pretty comfortable most of the time. 

I loved everything about this maternity shoot! It was not only my first outdoor shoot of the year, but also my first shoot using my new camera. I had been eagerly waiting for a chance see how it handled different lighting and could not be happier. It was worth the wait.

The light on this day was perfect. We got to enjoy a great sunset with a nice warm glow. My model looked beautiful playing in the snow and then relaxing with a big, yellow mug. I absolutely love her smile! Here are my favorite images from the day.

Something different...

I've been trying to limit this blog to portrait photography in order to allow for easy browsing through my growing portfolio. However, I just got back from Hawaii and can't resist posting some pictures. It was so beautiful! I happened to be there for the full moon on Thursday night and got to do some long exposure photography. I also got some great sunrise pics on Friday morning. Enjoy!!!

 

 

 

Ember's shoot

Here are some pictures from Ember's newborn shoot. She was only 14 days old when we met, but very alert and so pretty! We spent about 3 hrs together and she never cried. I couldn't have asked for a more cooperative or sweeter baby... Thanks mom and grandma for all your help keeping baby comfortable and safe. I hope you like your images!

Villa Wedding

This is the first wedding I've done all by my self. I'm so grateful to these guys for trusting me with the memories of their big day! I hope I was able to capture some of beauty of their intimate winter wedding.  

We also attempted an engagement shoot outside the week before the wedding. It was 30 below, sunny and very pretty, but we were only able to stand outside for about 5 minutes before we had to run... Here is an image from that day.

Chrystal's Maternity Shoot

This was my first maternity shoot. I loved it! It is such an exciting, beautiful time in a woman's life...
My model, Chrystal, was great! She was willing to try different things and contributed some creative ideas of her own. We did some classic maternity, some more modern poses, as well as some pictures with her husband and adorable 20 month old.
Her shoot was completely in studio, since it was cold and dark outside. There are a lot of great images and many options on how to edit them, so it's taking me a while. Here are my favorite ones from what I've edited so far. I will add some more to this post as I get the rest done.

    

Jayden

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! This long weekend has given me a chance to catch up with my editing and my posting. Just one more thing to be grateful for...
Here are a few pictures from Jayden's shoot. His shoot was completely in studio, using my new lights, which I like more and more every day. I really love the pictures of him in the bath. It was his favorite time. He was so relaxed and happy, and it shows. He is so adorable trying to eat the rubber ducky! I'm also glad we got a couple of good holiday shots. I made a sample holiday card with my favorite. Love the big smile!

Brecken

We did Brecken's studio shoot on Sunday. He was just too cute in his little aviator outfit! 

I'm really glad we got the outdoors stuff done while it was still pretty outside, even if we waited to do the rest. I'm finally finished editing all the images. I hope his mom, dad, and grandparents enjoy these as much as I enjoyed working on them. Here they are!
